Reliance Globalcom's metro network employs the industry's fastest Layer 2 network re-convergence technology, called Ethernet Automatic Protection Switching (EAPS), an IETF standard. When a network failure occurs, EAPS automatically re-routes data traffic onto secondary or protection paths with an almost undetectable 50 milliseconds failover time.
