Managed Metro Ethernet Service
Ethernet is fast, scalable and easy to deploy site to multi-site connectivity within a single metropolitan area.
Reliance Globalcom's Managed Metro Ethernet service seamlessly links enterprise LANs across town over Reliance Globalcom's Ethernet-based metropolitan fiber networks, bringing your farthest location as close as your desktop.
Reliance Globalcom's Managed Metro Ethernet Service
Reliance Globalcom's Metro Ethernet Service provides LAN-to-LAN connectivity between multiple locations within a single metropolitan area. The service is available in point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, or multipoint-to-multipoint configurations; seamlessly extending the Enterprise LAN between multiple locations. Fully supporting enterprise network needs, Reliance Globalcom's Metro Ethernet service can support class of service (CoS) options and Q-in-Q/VLAN stacking. Whether you are connecting to data centers or bringing a remote facility online, Reliance Globalcom's deployment expertise and the proven benefits of Ethernet technology can get you there quickly and easily.
If you need to connect sites outside of a metropolitan area, look at our Managed WAN Ethernet and Managed WAN VPLS services.
Fully-Managed Ethernet Service
What does 'Fully-Managed' really mean? Reliance Globalcom installs, provisions, monitors, manages and takes full responsibility for the network termination (CPE) device at your site. Because we run an end-to-end Ethernet network, you can simply plug-in your LAN; the Reliance Globalcom network acts like an Ethernet bridge, easily connecting as many sites as you would like. Additionally, this simple approach means that you do not have to worry about scaling older technologies like ATM/Frame Relay and ISDN and managing the associated hardware.
Secure, Scalable and Flexible
Reliance Globalcom offers high-security by employing policy-based VLAN provisioning over dedicated per-customer ports. This ensures that the transit of an enterprise's proprietary data is fully protected and inaccessible beyond the intended origination and destination points. Given the simplicity of Ethernet, Reliance Globalcom's network services are instantly scalable from 1 Mbps to 1 Gbps in 1 Mbps increments. Additionally, the use of Ethernet offers many inherent network connectivity options, point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and fully-meshed, which allows the enterprise to freely connect as needed.
Self-Healing Network Protection
Reliance Globalcom's metro network employs the industry's fastest Layer 2 network re-convergence technology, called Ethernet Automatic Protection Switching (EAPS), an IETF standard. When a network failure occurs, EAPS automatically re-routes data traffic onto secondary or protection paths with an almost undetectable 50 milliseconds failover time. EAPS is just one element of Reliance Globalcom's comprehensive network design strategy aimed at supporting the most critical of enterprise network applications.

"Enterprises are embracing Ethernet services for greater bandwidth at lower cost, but they also want assured support for mission-critical applications like real-time data backup, offsite disaster recovery, VoIP and two-way video transmission. Robust SLAs, like the one offered by Reliance Globalcom, will help Ethernet services play an integral roll in the broader enterprise paradigm shift toward on-demand business."
