Shankar Narayanaswamy Will Focus on Expansion of Global Ethernet VPLS Platform and Development of New Value-Added Services

San Francisco - June 7, 2007 - Yipes Enterprise Services, Inc., announced today that Shankar Narayanaswamy has joined the company as vice president of network architecture reporting to Dr. Kamran Sistanizadeh, chief technology officer and co-founder of Yipes. Narayanaswamy was most recently with Covad Communications, where he led the design and development of VoIP, IPTV, and Video on Demand (VoD) services. He also initiated and drove the evolution of Covad's nationwide network from ATM to MPLS. In this new position, Narayanaswamy will further develop the architecture and drive the expansion of Yipes' next-generation Ethernet VPLS platform. He will also oversee development of new value-added services which are part of Yipes' product roadmap.

Prior to joining Yipes, Narayanaswamy held several technical management positions in network engineering and architecture, including the leadership of Covad Communications' network engineering and architecture group. He also served as director of network systems at Sapias, Inc. Narayanaswamy was founder and CTO of Telemesis, which delivered end-to-end services for wireless remote access and management. Prior to that, he spent five years at Bell Labs, the research arm of Lucent Technologies (now Alcatel-Lucent). He has published numerous papers and holds nine patents. Narayanaswamy holds a BSEE, MSEE, and PhD from the University of California-Berkeley.
