Heavy Reading's National/International Innovation Award rewards the carrier that clearly demonstrated advancement in developing a global Ethernet network. This year, Leading Reading's Leading Lights Awards includes a new category - Person of the Year award. This award is intended to allow our readers to recognize one individual who contributed to the business of next-generation communications in a big way during 2007. In the three years since Scanlon's arrival at Yipes, the company has raised over 100 million in VC funding, turned EBITDA and cash flow positive and achieved a 40 percent rate of annual revenue growth. Scanlon also guided Yipes to focus on specific vertical markets — launching services and applications designed to address customer requirements in the legal, financial, and media sectors — and to expand its reach globally.
