Rieter Automotive gears up for growth with Reliance Globalcom
Leading automotive supplier extends 5-year contract to support expansion into emerging markets
Neu-Isenburg, December 15, 2010 - Reliance Globalcom, the leading global provider of managed network and communication services for multinational enterprises, carriers and consumers, today announced a 5-year extension of its global network management, design and provisioning contract with Rieter Automotive Systems (Rieter). The contract renewal is worth US$ 4.5 million and will cover 50 locations across 13 countries including 5 new sites in China.
Formed in 1795 in Switzerland, Rieter has established a global standard in service provisioning to the automotive industry, by tailoring solutions to meet specific client requirements. In order to maintain the high standards and reputation built over the years, Rieter was increasingly looking to provide products manufactured in-country that ensured the exact cultural, technological and service synergy with the customers’ needs. In line with this strategy the company also needed to rapidly scale its business into challenging markets like China, to support new business opportunities. Reliance Globalcom with its hybrid VNO approach catered to this exact requirement, by providing access to over 700 certified provider partners reaching over 230 countries, with a fully scalable solution that could flex to any new geographical market, where Rieter identified growth opportunities.
The new global managed network will replace Rieter’s current Internet and IP Sec connections with an IP VPN and MPLS Matrix solution, which will increase both the reliability of the core network and the performance of all major applications. The global network covers established markets in Europe and the US including South America, extending with new sites in Asia, to establish Rieter’s local capability.
Reliance Globalcom delivered a level of customer service assurance and technical innovation, which matched Reiter’s key requirements as it expanded into a new market. Secure, high-bandwidth connectivity, provided by local suppliers in China, was rapidly established and seamlessly integrated into the existing single point of billing, contractual and fault management for the global WAN. Minimal requirements on local Asia IT teams meant business establishment could be prioritised and more rapid sales achieved. This process can easily be replicated anywhere around the globe, to facilitate business growth unlimited by technological, geographical or cultural borders.
“Being a trusted partner for 6 years, I think Reliance Globalcom highly differentiates from other network providers through its service assurance and the agility to rapidly change our network according to our business needs”, explains Karl-Heinz Frohnhoff, CIO Rieter Automotive Management AG. “With increasing growth opportunities in the emerging economies of the world, we understand the true value of Reliance Globalcom’s multi-supplier network that helps utilise local carriers in ways which exactly mirror our business expansion model in every local market.”
“We are very pleased to announce the contract renewal with Rieter, and excited to continue providing high service assurance and consolidated network solutions to them. “, explained Jürgen Keller, Managing Director Central Europe, Reliance Globalcom. “Our 20-year heritage of providing multi-carrier managed solutions has supported many customers’ global growth, which is evident in continued business from our current customers. We look forward to continued growth as we work more closely with current and future customers to solve their business challenges.”
